Daniel WRIGHT
(c1725-?)
and Mary HUSSELL (1724-?)

Daniel Wright
and
Mary Hussell
were my 6x Great Grandparents. (Click
here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)
They married by banns on 9 December 1749 at the parish church of St. Mary
and St. Peter in Wilmington, Sussex. They were both
of Wilmington.
Daniel Wright’s
date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
Mary Hussell was
baptised on 19 October 1724 at St. Mary's in Hailsham, Sussex. She was
the daughter of John Hussell and Mary Hollybone.
(Many thanks to Christine Jackson for finding Mary's
baptism.)
Daniel Wright and Mary
Hussell had 5 known children:
-
Elizabeth Wright
was baptised on 22 July 1750 in
Wilmington.
-
Mary Wright
was baptised on 4 February 1753 in
Wilmington.
-
Alexander Wright
was baptised on 10 November 1755 in
Wilmington.
-
Ann
Wright, my 5x Great
Grandmother, was baptised on 14 May 1758 in Wilmington. She married
Walter
Sawyers in 1781. (They have
their own page.)
-
Robert Wright
was baptised on 23 October 1761 in
Wilmington and buried there on 8 December 1764.
I have checked the East Sussex Baptism Index
for Daniel
Wright whom I would guess were born before 1730, but there are no likely baptisms
for him. The IGI has a
Dan Wright
baptised on 14 January 1727 in Tonbridge,
Kent the son of
William Wright and
Mary.
There were many other Daniel’s born/baptised 1720 +/-10 years, but the Kent
one is the closest to Wilmington.
Thomas Wright married Elizabeth Dorridge
on 21 October 1703 in Wilmington. He also married
Mary Pagden on 16 January 1707/9 in Jevington, at which time he was
of Wilmington. (Christine descends from Thomas and his second wife
Mary.)
William Hussel
and Mary Baker married on 25 April 1721 in Warbleton, Sussex.
At that time William was of Hailsham and Mary of Warbleton.
Robert Hassel and Susan Smith married on
20 February 1698/9 in Battle, Sussex. Robert was then of Waldron and
Susan of Westfield.
John Hussell and Mary Hollybone married on
12 October 1698 in Folkington. They were both then of Hailsham.
