George WOOLVEN (c1595-1641)

and Rebecca RICHARDSON (c1595-1631)

George Woolven and Rebecca Richardson may have been my 9x Great Grandparents.  They married on 11 October 1618 in Steyning, Sussex.  George may have married for a second time to Agnes Waller on 12 February 1634/5 in Steyning, and then for a third time on 22 October 1640 in Steyning to either Mary Hitchcock or Mary Whitchurch.  At neither marriage was George described as a widower.  Nor does there seem to have been any children from either marriage.

George Woolven ís date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was buried on 17 July 1641 in Steyning.

Rebecca Richardsonís date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 7 April 1631 in Steyning.

Agnes's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 27 December 1638 in Steyning.

George Woolven and Rebecca Richardson had 4 known children:

  1. Jane Woolven was baptised on 31 October 1619 in Steyning.

  2. Henry Woolven was baptised on 23 June 1622 in Steyning.  He may have been buried there on 7 December 1632, or he may have married Elizabeth in about 1654 and they may have been my 8x great grandparents.  (They have their own page.)

  3. George Woolven was baptised on 8 March 1624/5 in Steyning.

  4. John Woolven was baptised on 27 January 1627/8 in Steyning.

John married Alice Mitchell on 26 December 1653 in Steyning.

They had 1 known son and maybe a daughter:

    1. John Woolvin was baptised on 4 April 1668 in Steyning.  He may have died in 1720.  John left a will, in which he mentioned his nephew John Aylmer, son of his sister Jane.  John may have married Ann Rock on 18 April 1687 in Steyning.

    2. Jane Woolvin married Richard Aylmer on 21 October 1700 in Steyning.  They had the following son:

      1. John Aylmer
