Parsons
married in the first quarter of 1889 in the Hambledon, Surrey
registration district. (They were not my direct ancestors. Their
youngest daughter married my grandmother's brother.)
Robert Woods was baptised on 28 December 1856 in Merrow, Surrey.
He was the son of James Woods (c1815-?) and Maria Ricketts
(c1825-?). He died after 1929. When the 1881 census was recorded he was an
unmarried 24 year old police constable lodging in the home of Jane
Adamstone at 6 Orchard Cottages in Mertham, Surrey.
Sarah Parsons was born about 1868 in Dunsfold, Surrey. She was
the daughter of George Parsons (c1838-?) and Mary (c1843-?).
When the 1871 census was recorded she was 3 years old and living with her
parents on Tickners Heath in Alfold, Surrey. Her father was then a
labourer.
When the 1891 census was recorded the couple and their young son were living
at Garlands Cottages in Ewhurst, Surrey. Robert was then a 33 year old
domestic gardener and Sarah was 23 years old. Also with them on census
night was a 20 year old unmarried lodger, Harry Thompson who was a
domestic groom. In 1901 the family were living at New House Farm in
Rudgwick, Sussex and Robert was a general labourer in a brickyard.

year old when the 1891 census was recorded. In 1901 he was an 11
year old scholar.

was born about 1892 in Ewhurst, Surrey. He was 9 years old in 1901.

was born about 1894 in Ewhurst. In 1901 he was 8 years old.

Mary L.
Woods was born about 1895 in Guildford, Surrey. She was 6 years
old in 1901.

John Woods
was born about 1897 in Worplesdon, Surrey. In 1901 he was 4 years
old.

Edith G.
S. Woods was born about 1899 in Alfold. she was 2 years
old in 1901.

Elizabeth
Violet Woods was born on 10 December 1903 at Wood House Cottage in
Loxwood, Wisborough Green. Her father was then a general labourer.
She was known as Bessie. She died on 5 August 1984 in
Australia. Bessie married Frederick John Warman on 26
December 1929 in Portslade, Sussex. Fred was born on 9 January 1902
in Brighton and died on 7 November 1972 in Australia. He was the son
of
Arthur Edward Warman (1872-1918) and
Flora
Boorman (1868-1952).
