John Whitney and Thomasine
had 4 known children:
was baptised on 12 April 1667 in Ringmer,
Sussex. (SFHG database says Thomas Whitne was
baptised on that day.) William was most probably buried on 14 May
1705 in Newhaven. The burial register noted that he was a
Jane Duffield on 30 December 1694 in Little Horsted, Sussex.
They married by licence which was issued on 29 December 1694 by the
Archdeaconry of Lewes. The licence noted that he was from Lewes
and she a spinster of West Firle.
Jane was baptised on 13
December 1668 in Isfield. She was most probably buried on 6
September 1719 in Newhaven. The burial register noted that she was
William and Jane had 5 known children:
John Whitney was baptised on 15 November 1695 in Newhaven,
William Whitney was baptised on 28 August 1697 in Newhaven.
He married Mary Smart on 4 October 1724 in Selmeston, Sussex.
Jane Whitney was baptised on 12 March 1698/9 in Newhaven.
She was buried on 12 March 1700 in Newhaven. The burial register
noted that she was the daughter of William and Jane who were poor.
Thomas Whitney was baptised on 6 April 1702 in Newhaven. He
was most probably buried on 16 August 1751 in Newhaven.
Elizabeth Whitney was baptised on 19 May 1704 in Newhaven.
Jane Whitney was buried
on 22 December 1714 in Newhaven. The burial register noted that
she was Jane Whitney, junior.
