Reuben White
married before or about 1665 and possibly in or near Balcombe, Sussex, but
no possible marriage has been found for him. Might he have been the
son of Reuben White and Elizabeth Wood who
married in 1634? (See further below)

Judith White was baptised on 25 February 1665/6 in Balcombe.
She may have married my 7x Great Grandfather
John Comber (1660-1729) in 1690 in Balcombe, Sussex. Or instead, she may have married Thomas Dumbrill
on 5 May 1698 in East Chiltington, Sussex. (I have checked a
transcript of the East Chiltington register and there were no further
details recorded against their marriage, nor were there any Dumbrill
children baptised in East Chiltington between 1700-25.)

Reuben
White and Elizabeth Wood married by licence on 25
September 1634 in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex. Their marriage licence was
issued on the same day by the Archdeaconry of Lewes, which recorded that he
was a yeoman of Horsham and she a spinster of Hurstpierpoint. Sponsors
of the licence were Reuben himself and Edward Brooker a
yeoman of Hurstpierpoint.

(He would seem to have been the first White buried in Balcombe since the
commencement of the registers in 1539.
Roger White married Mercy Butcher by
licence dated 19 February 1609/10. The licence was issued by the
Archdeaconry of Lewes and noted that Roger was a hammerman and Mercy a
spinster and they were both of Worth. Surety for the licence was
provided by Roger himself and Richard Butcher a husbandman.
John White was minister at Balcombe in 1616 and 1617.

marriage licence was issued on the same day by the Archdeaconry of Lewes,
which noted that he was a bachelor and taylor of Balcombe and she a maiden
of Cuckfield. Surety was provided by Martyn himself and Thomas
Rotherham a clockmaker of Lewes.
Martyn White was buried on 20 March 1707/8 in Balcombe.
Thomas White and Mary Brett married by
licence on 29 December 1698 at All Saints in Lewes. Their marriage
licence was issued the day before by the Archdeaconry of Lewes, which
recorded that he was a bachelor of Balcombe and she a spinster of the same
place.
Judith White married John Seale of
Kingston on 26 November 1640 at St. Michael's in Lewes.

Richard White and Elizabeth Wates married
by licence on 3 September 1717 at St. Michael's in Lewes. Their
marriage licence was issued on 5 September 1717 (as per the Sussex marriage
index), by the Archdeaconry of Lewes, which noted that he was a hammersmith of Charlwood, Surrey and she a widow of Lewes.
Presumably, Richard was born around about 1690, although a 62 year old
Richard White was buried on 25 December 1739 in Worth,
therefore, born about 1677. An 85 year old Richard White
was also buried in Worth on 7 August 1733, therefore, born about, 1648.
And widow White aged 83 was buried on 23 August 1733.
Richard White married Sarah Penfold on 26
September 1676 in Worth. They may have been the parents of the Richard
baptised on 11 August 1678 in Maresfield.
A Jane White was buried on 2 June 1730 in Worth.
A Judith White wife of Richard was buried on 3 November
1731 in Worth.
Richard White and Judith Powell married on
15 January 1723/4 in Alkham, Kent. They may have had the following
