My White AncestorsSo far I have 2 White ancestral lines. I join the first with a 7x Great Grandmother Judith White (1666-1726) of Sussex, and the second with a 9x Great Grandmother Catherine White who may have been born in the 1630's in Kent. I would think it very unlikely that the 2 lines link-up. First Line - SussexAlthough White is a fairly common surname you would think Judith White was a reasonably uncommon combination. But in 1666 2 Judith White's were baptised. One on 25 February 1665/6 in Balcombe to Reuben White, the other on 10 November 1666 in East Grinstead to Thomas White and Ann Langridge. At first I thought East Grinstead Judith was "mine", but then thought she was Balcombe Judith, as after all "my" Judith White married John Comber (1660-1729) in Balcombe. However, Judith and John had 9 children, none of whom were named Reuben, but 2 were named Thomas and Ann. So, I am now inclined to think that Thomas White and Ann Langridge were the parents of "my" Judith White. (Watch this space - when the wind changes so may my thoughts!) Second Line - KentSo far all I have is that Catherine White married Thomas Oliver on 21 August 1659 in Tonbridge, Kent. They had 9 known children baptised there between 1660 and 1681.
