William WEDGE (1712-?)

and Love(ly) (c1720-?)

 

William Wedge and Love(ly) married sometime before 1746.  (They were probably not my direct ancestors

William Wedge may have been baptised on 11 June 1712 in Bosham, Sussex, and have been the son of Philip Wedge and Margaret Hellyer.

Lovely's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

 

William Wedge and Love(ly) had 4 known children:

  1. John Wedge was baptised on 16 November 1746 in South Bersted, Sussex.  His mother's name was Lovely.  He married Ann Burcher by licence on 10 July 1765 in South Bersted.  Their marriage licence was issued on 9 July 1765 by Pagham and Tarring Peculiar recorded that John was a 17 year old bachelor and husbandman of South Bersted and that he married with the consent of William Wedge.  Ann was an 18 year old of Felpham, Sussex and married with the consent of her uncle Thomas Heward.

  2. Richard Wedge was baptised on 30 May 1749 in North Mundham, Sussex.  His mother's name was Love.

  3. Thomas Wedge was baptised on 18 November 1750 in South Bersted.  His mother's name was Love.  He married Ann Gibbins in 1770.  (They have their own page.)

  4. A son was baptised on 7 December 1755 in South Berstead.  His mother's name was Love.
