Elisha WEBB (c1760-1810)

and Judith HAM (1761-1834)

 

Elisha Webb and Judith Ham married on 13 November 1783 in Bramley, Hampshire.  They were my 4x Great Grandparents and Geoff Webb's 3x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)

Elisha Webb may have been born about 1760 and died in 1810.  He was probably buried in Tadley, Hampshire.  He was the heir of Robert Webb (1715-1788) who was from Baughurst, Hampshire and was buried at Tadley.  (Tadley is about 5 miles south of Beenham, 3 miles west of Bramley and 2 miles east of Baughurst.)  An Elisha Webb was baptised on either 9 or 27 June 1759 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire as the son of Richard Webb and Ann.

Judith Ham was baptised on 26 July 1761 in Bramley, Hampshire.  She was the daughter of Robert Ham (c1720-?) and Mary Vidler (1724-?).  She died in 1834 in Beenham and was buried in Mortimer West End, Hampshire. 

 

Elisha Webb and Judith Ham had 10 known children:

  1. Robert Webb.  In 1841 he was aged 55 years and living with the family of his brother Richard.  He was mentioned in his Motherís Will.

  2. Richard Webb, my 3x Great Grandfather, was born on 6 May 1788 in Beenham.  He married my 3x Great Grandmother 5 65 Elizabeth Ann Tyler in 1834.  (They have their own page.)  Richard was an executor of his Motherís Will.

  3. William Webb was born on 22 February 1790 in Beenham.

  4. Thomas Webb was born on 2 December 1791 in Beenham.  He married Elizabeth Cork on 13 September 1814 in Thatcham, Berkshire.  They had 1 known son.

  5. Sally Temperance Webb was born on 26 February and baptised on 9 June 1795 in Beenham.

  6. Joseph Webb was born on 26 February and baptised on 9 May 1798 in Beenham, and probably died soon after.

  7. Mary Webb was born on 3 April and baptised on 8 May 1801 in Beenham.  She married James Hunt on 16 February 1823 in Southampton.  James and Mary had 5 known children:

    1. Caroline Hunt was baptised on 1 September 1826 in South Stoneham, Hampshire.  She may have died aged 74 years in the fourth quarter of 1900 in the Kingston registration district.  Caroline married William Jackson on 22 July 1849 in Portsea, Hampshire.  When the 1881 census was recorded the couple were living in New Street Cottages in London and William was a Bricklayer.  He was born about 1823 in Wretton, Norfolk.  Caroline was then a Dressmaker.  Two daughters and a Granddaughter were also living with them when the 1881 census was recorded.  William and Caroline had 9 known children:

      1. Robert William James Jackson was baptised on 17 August 1851 in South Stoneham.

      2. John Charles Jackson was born on 13 July 1853 in Cheam/Epson/Carshalton, Surrey.  He died on 17 April 1933.  John married Elizabeth Murdoch on 5 September 1873 in Glasgow.

      3. Kate Jackson was born in 1856 in Hampton, Middlesex.  She married Harry Abbott Durnford in about 1878 in Fulham.  He died aged 44 years in the third quarter of 1901 in the Kingston district.  Their 1 year old daughter, Maud J. Durnford was with Kate's parents when the 1881 census was recorded.  Maud Jane Durnford died aged 9 years in the fourth quarter of 1888 in the Kingston district.  When the 1901 census was recorded the couple were living in Hampton and Harry was a Plasterer.  Also with them at that time were their children:  Fred (16), Albert Edward (14), Edith May (8), Eva Kate (6) and Beatrice Celia (3).

      4. Frederick Jackson was born in 1858 in Hampton.

      5. Samuel Jackson was born in 1860 in Hampton (third quarter).

      6. Edwin Jackson was born in 1860 in Hampton (third quarter).

      7. Sarah Ann Jackson was born in 1863 in Hampton.  She was an 18 year old Dressmaker when the 1881 census was recorded and living with her parents.

      8. Beatrice Mary Jackson was born about 1866 in Hampton.  She married Samuel William Heath in the fourth quarter of 1895 in the Kingston district.  When the 1901 census was recorded the couple where living in Shirley, near Southampton.  He was then a 36 year old Carpenter and Joiner and had been born in Southampton.

      9. Celia Jane Jackson was born in 1870 in Hampton (first quarter).  In 1881 she was an 11 year old Scholar living at home.

    2. John Hunt was born in 1831 in Portswood, Hampshire.

    3. Charles Hunt was born in 1834 in Portswood.

    4. Celia Hunt was baptised on 1 September 1839 in Shirley, near Southampton.

    5. Jane Hunt was baptised on 23 June 1844 in Medstead, Hampshire.

  8. Joshua Webb was born on 12 September 1802 in Beenham.

  9. Laetitia Webb was born on 14 May and baptised on 5 June 1804 in Beenham.  She may have married James Palmer on 27 July 1826 in Wantage, Berkshire.

  10. Joseph Webb was born on 19 July and baptised on 5 August 1806 in Beenham.  He married Martha Noyes in 1836.  (They have their own page.)
