Thomas Wady and Elizabeth Greenfield
married on 10 May 1691 in Billingshurst, Sussex.
(They were not my direct ancestors.)
Thomas Wady was baptised on 27 August 1669 in Billingshurst,
Sussex. He was the son of
Thomas Wady
(c1645-1677) and
Bridget Greenfield
(1646-1689). Thomas died aged 74 years and was buried
on 22 April 1744 in Billingshurst.
Elizabeth Greenfield may have been baptised in
Billingshurst on:
7 August 1664 the daughter of Thomas Greenfield.
12 December 1665 the daughter of Benjamin Greenfield and
Mary Shaw from Summers - buried 22 April 1666.
19 May 1672 the daughter of
Joseph Greenfield and most
probably Susan.
17 December 1672 the daughter of Richard Greenfield and
Jane Higgons.
In addition to the 1691 marriage of an Elizabeth Greenfield
there was also:
28 February 1681/2 in Billingshurst to John Eliot of
Henfield.
25 September 1688 in Horsham to William Penfold, both were
from Billingshurst.
Elizabeth was buried in Billingshurst on 4 March 1743/4. Only her name
as Elizabeth Wady was noted in the burial register.

Thomas Wady was baptised on 13 October 1691 in
Billingshurst. He was buried on 15 March 1774 in Billingshurst.
Thomas married Sarah Overington on 24 May 1720 in
Billingshurst.
Sarah was buried on 13 November 1764 in Billingshurst. The burial
register noted that she was the wife of Thomas Wadey.
Thomas and Sarah had the following children:

Mary Wady was baptised on 10 April 1721 in
Billingshurst. She may have had an illegitimate child:

Ann Wady was born on 20 August 1746 and baptised on
14 September 1746 in Billingshurst.

John Wady was baptised on 19 August 1722 in
Billingshurst. John may have married Mary Stedham
by licence on 31 August 1756 in West Chiltington. The witnesses to
their marriage were Mary Bishop and Richard
Surgeon. Their marriage licence was
issued on the same day by the Archdeaconry of Chichester, which noted
that he was a 24 year old bachelor and carpenter of Billingshurst,
whilst she was a 30 year old spinster from Chiltington. Surety for
the licence was provided John himself and Henry Bishop
a farmer of Chiltington.

Arthur Wady was baptised on ?6 November 1726 in
Billingshurst.

Levi Wady was baptised on 27 December 1728 in
Billingshurst. A Levi Wady was buried in
Billingshurst on 8 October 1797.
Levi married Hannah Marrel on 14 October 1755 in
Billingshurst. They were both then of Billingshurst. The
witnesses to their marriage were George Greenfield and
Sarah Wadey.
Hannah was buried on 7 January 1784 in Billingshurst and it was noted in
the burial register that she was the wife of Levi Wadey
from Chiltington.

Elias Wady was baptised on 6 October 1733 in
Billingshurst and buried there on 23 July 1734.

Sarah Wady was baptised on 18 July 1741 in
Billingshurst.

John Wady was baptised on 19 November 1693 in
Billingshurst. John may have married Sarah Studman
on 24 May 1724 in Billingshurst. They were both then of
Billingshurst. He may also/instead of married Mary Comper,
widow on 3 October 1727 in Pulborough, at which time they were both of
Pulborough. Mary wife of John Wady was buried on
10 July 1737 in Pulborough. John may then have married
Sarah Cook by licence on 11 September 1738 in Amberley.
He was then of Pulborough and she of Houghton. And/or he may have
married Elizabeth Richardson on 19 January 1745/6 in
Pulborough.

Daniel Wady was baptised on 14 January 1695/6 in
Billingshurst.

A child was born on 6 January 1697/8 and buried on 8 January 1697/8 in Billingshurst, but not baptised.
Neither the baptism or burial register noted whether the child was a son
or a daughter.

Richard Wady was baptised on 27 April 1699 in
Billingshurst and buried there on 8 September 1699. The baptism
and burial register noted that his father was a
weaver.

Edward Wady was baptised on 30 August 1700 in
Billinghurst. The baptism register noted that his father was a
weaver. He died aged 80 years and was buried on 1 March 1780 in
Billingshurst.
Edward married
Jane Snashal on 9 May 1727 in
Billingshurst.
Jane was baptised on 13 December 1706 in West Chiltington, and was the
daughter of John Snashall
(1680-1757) and
Mary Bishop
(c1680-1728).
She died aged 73 years and was buried on 17 November
1779 in Billingshurst.

Billingshurst.

John Wady was baptised on 17 February 1731/2 in
Billingshurst.

Betty Wady was baptised on 21 February 1734/5 in
Billingshurst.

Jane Wady was baptised on 29 March 1737 in
Billingshurst.

Edward Wady was baptised on 9 December 1739 in
Billingshurst and buried there on 28 December 1750.

Mary Wady was baptised on 1 November 1742 in
Billingshurst.

Sarah Wady was born on 1 February 1744/5 and
baptised on 17 February 1744/5 in Billingshurst. Only her
father's named was recorded in the baptism register.

Ann Wady was baptised on 20 April 1747 in
Billingshurst and buried there on 7 December 1750.

Hannah Wady was baptised on 10 October 1749 in
Billingshurst.

Luke Wady
was baptised on 2 March 1702/3 in Billingshurst. The baptism
register noted that his father was a weaver. He married
Mary Clement in

Billingshurst. The baptism register noted that her father was a
weaver.
