My Tutt Ancestors
A 6x Great Grandmother was
Ann Tutt.
She was born in Warbleton in 1730 and married
Thomas King
in 1748 in Burwash which is where they raised their family of 4 children.
Ann's parents were
Stephen Tutt
and Sarah Glyd.
Stephen was also born in Warbleton, but married Sarah in Hastings in 1715.
Stephen was the son of
Edward Tutt
and Sarah
Wilmshurst. She like her son and granddaughter was born in
Warbleton, but Edward was born in Chiddingly, the son of another
Edward Tutt.

Susan Tutt, widow of Hailsham left a
will which was proved on 25 June 1656. I have a copy of this will
which I will eventually transcribe and add to this site. She
mentions sons Thomas, John and William, sisters
Dorothy Medhurst, Elizabeth Ellis, Mary and Rebecca
Page, mother Page wife of her father Richard Page,
kinswoman Elizabeth wife of Thomas Parsons, brother
Richard Page and brother-in-law Henry Medhurst. I
assume from this she was previously Susan Page, but no marriage
between her and a Tutt has been recorded in the Sussex marriage index.
Nor has a marriage between Dorothy Page and Henry Medhurst
been found. Elizabeth Page married Elias Ellis on 8
July 1647 in Hellingly.
