William TULLETT
(1738-1826)
and Catherine PETERS (c1739-1815)

William Tullett
and Catherine Peters married
by banns on 2 May 1773 in Slaugham, Sussex. They were both of
Slaugham and both made their marks. The witnesses to their marriage were
Richard Harding and Charles Colven who both signed their
names. (They were not my direct ancestors. William was the
brother of my 5x Great Grandfather, John Tullett.)
William Tullett
was baptised on 12 March
1737/8 in Slaugham. He was the son of
Peter Tullet (c1700-1749) and
Elizabeth Gratwick (c1705-1786). He died aged 92 years and was
buried on 5 March 1826 in Cuckfield, Sussex. On 25 May 1762 he was a witness
to the marriage of John Stone and Mary Ellsey.
Catherine Peters
was born about 1739.
She died aged 76 years and was buried on 16 August 1815 in Cuckfield.
The burial register recorded that she was the wife of William Tulet a
labourer of Cut
Hedges in Cuckfield.
