William TOOLET (1714-1766)

and Elizabeth GOWER (?-?)

and/or Susan FEAST (c1720-1805)

 

William Toolet may have married twice, firstly to Elizabeth Gower on 26 June 1735 in Keymer, Sussex, and/or Susan Feast on 4 July 1748 in Slaugham, Sussex.

William Toolet may have been baptised on 2 February 1713/4 in Horsham, Sussex, the was the son of Peter Toolet and Mary Locket.  He may have been buried on 11 May 1766 in Nuthurst.

Susan Feast's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She may have been buried on 2 April 1805 in Nuthurst.  The burial register records that Susan Tulett was a widow.

 

William Toolet and Susan Feast had 4 known children:

  1. John Tullett was baptised on 11 October 1748 in Cowfold, Sussex.  John Tulett, a labouring man, was buried in Nuthurst on 16 January 1784.

    John married Sarah Pronger by banns on 10 May 1774 in Nuthurst.  They were both then of Nuthurst.  However, her name was most probably Martha Pronger.

    Martha was baptised on on 12 May 1751 in Nuthurst and was the the daughter of Thomas Pronger (1722-1767) and Mary Peters (c1720-1805).  Martha wife of John Tulett was buried in Nuthurst on 29 May 1783.

    John and Martha may have had the following children:

    1. Mary Tullett may have been part of this family.  She was buried as an infant on 19 February 1775 in Nuthurst.

    2. William Tulett was baptised on 6 July 1777 in Nuthurst.

    3. Ann Tulett was baptised on 31 January 1779 in Nuthurst.  Might she have married William Heybettle by banns on 9 May 1797 in West Grinstead, Sussex?  They were both then of West Grinstead.

    4. Thomas Tulett may have been part of this family.  He was buried as infant in Nuthurst on 28 August 1783.

  2. Mary Toolett was baptised on 13 July 1755 in Nuthurst.

    Mary married John Fairs by licence on 6 April 1774 in Nuthurst.

    John was baptised on 12 June 1748 in Nuthurst and was the son of Thomas Fairs (c1700-1771) and Mary (c1710-1757).

  3. William Toolett was baptised on 1 May 1757 in Nuthurst.  He married Phoebe Virgo on 20 June 1779 in Hurstpierpoint, Sussex.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Elizabeth Toolett was baptised on 6 April 1760 in Nuthurst.
