Richard Tullett
and Caroline Wadey married on 31 July 1847 in Pyecombe, Sussex.
(They were not my direct ancestors.)
Richard Turner
Tulet was baptised on 1 January 1826 in West Grinstead, Sussex. He
was the son of
Mary
Tullett (1809-?). He died aged 71 years and his death was
registered in the third quarter of 1897 in the Brighton registration
district. In 1841 he was living with his maternal grandparents.

Tullett, born in 1827 in West Grinstead, married
Caroline Hills
in 1851.)
Caroline Wadey
was baptised on 30 October 1825 in Shipley, Sussex. She was the
daughter of David Wadey and Elizabeth Henty. She died
aged 56 years and her death was registered in the second quarter of 1882 in
the Brighton registration district. In 1881 Caroline was described as
an invalid.
When the 1851
census was recorded the couple and their 3 young sons were living at 69
Pimlico in Brighton. Richard was then a bricklayer's labourer and
Caroline a needlewoman. Also with them on census night were 12 year
old visitor Caleb Wadey and 25 year old unmarried William Tullett.
In 1861 the family were living at 5 Vine Street in Brighton and Richard was
a 35 year old labourer. The family were still living at 5 Vine Street
in 1871 and Richard was a 45 year old paver. When the 1881 census was
recorded the family were living at 15 Islingwood Place in Brighton and
Richard was a Corporation pavior.

had 11 known children:

Tullett was born in Billingshurst, Sussex and baptised there on 12
December 1847, at which time his parents were said to be of Brighton and
his father a labourer. In 1851 he was 3 years old and living with
his parents.

William
Tullett was baptised on 20 May 1849 at St. Peter's in Brighton.
He was 2 years old in 1851. In 1861 he was a 12 year old errand boy
and the eldest of his siblings living at home.

James Tullett
was born in 1850 in Brighton. When the 1851 census was recorded he
was 8 months old. In 1861 he was a 10 year old scholar.

George Tullett
was baptised on 6 February 1853 at St. Nicholas in Brighton. He was
not with his parents at the time of the 1861 census.

Caroline Ann
Tullett was baptised on 24 September 1854 at St. Nicholas in Brighton.
She was not with her parents in 1861.

Ellen Tullett
was baptised on 26 October 1856 in Brighton. She was not with her
parents in 1861. In 1871 she was a 14 year old nursemaid and the
eldest of her siblings living at home.

Alfred Tullett
was born about 1858 in Brighton. In 1861 he was 2 years old.
The 1871 census records that he was a 12 year old candle factory boy.
In 1881 he was an unmarried 23 year old fashionable visitors collector,
living with his parents.

Edmond Tullett
was either 11 days or 11 months old when the 1861 census was recorded.
In 1871 he was a 10 year old scholar.

Elizabeth
Tullet was baptised on 13 October 1861 at St. Nicholas in Brighton.
In 1871 she was a 9 year old scholar. She was an unemployed 19 year
old laundress in 1881.

Mark Tullett
was baptised on 13 December 1863 at St. Nicholas in Brighton. He was
a 7 year old scholar in 1871. In 1881 he was a 17 year old general
labourer.

Annie Tullett
was baptised on 1 July 1866 in Brighton. In 1871 she was a 4 year
old scholar. She was an unemployed 14 year old in 1881.
