Peter Tullett and Mary Peter married by Banns on 13 October 1757 in Slaugham.  At the time of their marriage they were both of Slaugham.  Peter signed his name and Mary made her X mark.  The witnesses were John Tullett and William Habe.  The Banns were published on 25 September, 2 and 9 October 1757 in Slaugham.  Their marriage was recorded as taking place in 1755, but Banns were published in 1757 and the marriage entry was between 31 May 1757 and 9 January 1758.  (They were not my direct ancestors.  Peter was my 5th Great Grand Uncle.)

Peter Tullett was baptised on 10 February 1731/2 in Slaugham.  He was the son Peter Tullet (c1700-1749) and Elizabeth Gratwick (c1705-1786).  Only his father's name was recorded against his baptism entry.  He was a Labourer.

Mary Peter may have been baptised on 2 April 1724 in Slaugham, and have been the daughter of William Peeters and Mary.

Peter Tullett and Mary Peter had 9 known children:

1. William Tullett (not sure why I think he was their son).

2. John Tullett was baptised on 27 January 1758 in Slaugham.  He may have married Ann Burtenshaw on 23 May 1783 in Ifield, Sussex.  Or he may have married Mary Streeter on 8 May 1793 in Brighton, Sussex.  He did have a cousin John Tullett born in 1761.

3. Elizabeth Tullett was baptised on 28 January 1759 in Slaugham.  As Elizabeth Toolet she may have married James Barnard on 25 January 1780 in Horsham.  Or, as Elizabeth Tulett she may have married John Coomber on 26 March 1786 in Cuckfield.  She did have a cousin Elizabeth Tullett baptised 1764.

4. Peter Tullett (1760-1843) married Mary Pesket (c1764-1813) in 1786.  (They have their own page.)

5. Sarah Tullett was baptised on 28 June 1761 in Slaugham.  As Sarah Tulet she may have married William Hall on 6 April 1778 in Cuckfield.

6. Jenney Tullett was baptised on 7 November 1762 in Slaugham.

7. Lyddy Tullett was baptised on 18 March 1764 in Slaugham and buried there on 16 September 1766.

8. Edward Tullett was baptised on 29 September 1765 in Slaugham.  He may have been buried on either 24 March 1775 or 4 November 1781, both in Slaugham.  The burial register only records that Edward Tullett was buried, and no further details to determine to whom the burials apply.  He did have 2 cousins:  Edward Tullett born in 1773 and Edward Tullett born in 1776.

9. Ann Tullett was baptised on 12 July 1767 in Cowfold.
