John TULLET (?-1819)

and Mary STREETER (c1772-1848)

John Tullet and Mary Streeter married by banns on 8 May 1793 at St. Nicholas in Brighton, Sussex.  John was a bachelor and a Private in the Sussex Regiment.  He was able to sign his name.  Mary was a spinster and made her X mark.  They were then both of Brighton.  The witnesses were Elizabeth Sawers, Robert Sewell and R. Jeffery.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

John Tullet may have been baptised on 29 January 1758, the son of Peter Tullett (1732-?) and Mary Peter, or on 15 February 1761, the son of John Tullett (1734-1809) and Elizabeth Michell (c1735-1815).  Both baptisms took place in Slaugham.  He may have died aged 57 years and have been buried on 25 August 1819 in Slaugham, therefore, born 1762.  (The IGI says he died on 24 November 1816.)

Mary Streeter was born about 1772.  She died aged 76 years and was buried on 28 September 1848 in Slaugham.
