He was a bachelor and she a spinster, and they were both of Brighton.
(They were not my direct ancestors.)
was born about 1799 in Horsham, Sussex. He was probably the son of
James Toolet and Ann Longhurst.
date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. She died before
the recording of the 1851 census.
When the 1851
census was recorded, James was a 52 year old widower and fly driver living
with the family of his brother Abraham Tulett at 22 Albion Street,
Brighton. Abraham was baptised on 15 September 1811 in Horsham and was
the son of James Toolett and Ann Longhurst who had married on
17 October 1799 in Dorking, Surrey.

had 5 known children:
William Tulett was baptised on 10 June 1827 at St. Nicholas in
Brighton. His father was then an ostler of North Lane. In 1851
he was an unmarried 24 year old shoemaker journeyman and he was then
living with the family of his uncle Abraham Tulett. When the
1861 census was recorded he was an unmarried 33 year old dock labourer,
boarding at 2 Rathbone Strett in Westham, Essex. (He was not the

Brighton. His father was then a labourer of Chalk Farm.
