Edward TOOLET (c1713-?)

and Mary (?-?)

 

Edward Toolet and Mary married sometime before or about 1743, and possibly in or near Horley, Surrey.  An Edward Toolet married Mary Marten in 1732 in Slaugham, Sussex, but they seemed to have settled in Worth, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Edward Toolet's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might he have been the son of Edward Toolet and Elizabeth Gillett who married in 1713 and had children baptised in Horley in 1715, 1717, 1720 and 1725?

Mary's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.

 

Edward Toolet and Mary had 4 known children:

  1. Edward Toolet was baptised on 12 June 1743 in Horley, Surrey.  He may have married Joyce Miller  in 1773.  (They have their own page.)

  2. Hannah Toolet was baptised on 9 March 1745 in Horley.

    Before her marriage she had an illegitimate daughter:

    1. Hannah Tullet was baptised on 23 March 1766 in Horley.

    Hannah married John Bysh by banns on 7 April 1766 in Horley.  She was then a spinster of Horley and he a bachelor of Ifield, Sussex.

  3. James Toolet was baptised on 17 November 1747 in Horley.

  4. Henry Toolet was baptised on 1 July 1750 in Horley.

    Henry may have married twice, firstly to Audrey Brown on 14 October 1772 in Horley, and then to Elizabeth, possibly Elizabeth Langridge by banns on 11 October 1778 in Horsted Keynes.  However, another Henry Tullett was baptised on 3 May 1754 in Crawley, Sussex, the son of Richard Tullett and Elizabeth (?-1780).

 

TULLETT
