Charles TULLETT
(1748-1823)
and Rhoda MITTON (c1749-1828)

Charles
Tullett and
Rhoda Mitton married by banns on 22 November 1773 in
Crawley, Sussex. He was a bachelor and she a spinster and they were
both of Crawley. The witnesses to their marriage were John
Chapman and William Attree (They were not my direct ancestors.)
Charles Tulett
was baptised on 16 February 1748 in Worth, Sussex. He was the son of
Edward Tulet
(?-1784) and Mary Marten
(?-1757). He died aged 75 years and was buried on 30 November 1823.
The will of Charles Tullett, blacksmith of Slaugham was
proved on 6 June 1829.
Rhoda
Mitton's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She died aged 79 years and was buried on 22 January 1828 in Slaugham.
Charles Tullett and
Rhoda Mitton had 8 known children:

James Tullett was baptised on 8 November 1774 in Crawley.
He died aged 44 years and was buried on 12 February 1819 in Crawley.
James married Mary.
Mary died aged 29 years in child birth and was buried on 23 August 1801 in
Crawley.
James and Mary had the following children:

Charles Tulett was baptised on 9 March 1800 in Crawley
and buried there as an infant on 26 October 1800.

George Tullett was baptised on 13 August 1801 in
Crawley and buried there with his mother on 23 August 1801.

Charles Tullett was baptised on 1 April 1777 in Crawley.

Edward Tullet was baptised on 1 January 1779 in Crawley.
He may have died aged 23 years and have been buried on 9 November 1800
in Crawley.

Mary Tulett was born on 6 November 1780 and baptised on
24 December 1780 in Crawley

William Tullett was born on 1 November 1781 and baptised
on 1 December 1781 in Crawley. He may have died aged 74 years and
have been buried on 15 November 1854 or he may have died aged 78 years
and have been buried on 29 April 1860. Both burials took place in
Crawley.
William may have married Elizabeth Holder by
banns on 27 July 1804 in Crawley. He was a bachelor and she a
spinster and they were both of Crawley. The witnesses to their
marriage were William Young and Hannah Thornton.
However, there was another
William Tullett was baptised on 13 May 1781 in
nearby Horley, the son of
Henry Tullett
and Elizabeth.
William and Elizabeth had the following children:

Sarah Tullett was born on 21 December 1811 and baptised
on 22 March 1812 in Crawley.

Ann Tullett was born on 6 April 1814 and baptised on 24
July 1814 in Crawley. The baptism register described her father as
a carpenter.

Mary Ann Tullett was born on 10 September 1817 and
baptised on 12 October 1817 in Crawley, at which time her father was a
carpenter.

Jane Tullett was born on 10 March 1820 and baptised on
14 May 1820 in Crawley, at which time her father was a carpenter.
Jane may have married James Tingley on 5 August 1849 in
Ifield, Sussex.

Edward Tullett was born on 30 March 1823 and baptised
on 25 May 1823 in Crawley, at which time his father was a labourer.

Sarah Tullett was baptised on 10 August 1784 in Crawley.
-
Thomas Tullett was baptised on 16 August 1786 in Crawley.
-
Martha Tullett was baptised on 1 September 1793 in
Crawley.
A Rhoda Ann Tulett died as an infant and was buried on 30
November 1800 in Crawley. She doesn't appear to have been baptised in
Crawley.
