When the 1881 census was recorded the couple and 2 children were living at
North Field in Cowfold. Alfred was then a 28 year old agricultural
labourer and Elizabeth was 24. Also with the family on census night
were 2 lodgers, James Hobbs and Thomas Denyer
who were both unmarried 21 year old agricultural labourers.
In 1891, the couple
and 6 children were living at North Fields. Alfred was then a 39 year
old agricultural labourer and Elizabeth was 34.
The couple and 7
children were still living at North Fields when the 1901 census was
recorded. Alfred was then a 48 year old stockman on a farm and
Elizabeth was said to be 46.

James H.
Tullett was born about 1875 in Nuthurst. He was 6 years
old in 1881. In 1891 he was a 16 year old agricultural labourer.
William married Elizabeth Priscilla Knee in 1896 in
Brighton.

Elizabeth Ann Tullett was baptised on 28 November 1875 in
Cowfold. The baptism register noted that her father was a
labourer.
Elizabeth Ann married George William Thurston
on 11 April 1897 in Cowfold. He was then a 30 year old bachelor
and printer's labourer from Chelsea and she was a 23 year old spinster.
Their fathers were named as George Thurston a gardener
and Alfred Tullett a labourer. The witnesses to
their marriage were Margaret Allen Thurston and
James Springett.

Harry Tullett was born about 1880 in Nuthurst. He died in
1953 in Billingshurst. He was a year old when the 1881 census was
recorded. In 1891 he was an 11 year old scholar. In 1901 he
was a 22 year old horseman on a farm and living at home with his
parents.
George married Helen.

Frederick
Alfred Tullett was born on 3 December 1881 at Northfields and
baptised on 8 January 1882 in Cowfold. He married
Annie Margaret Lindfield in 1904.

Robert Tullett was born on 30 April 1884 at Northfields and
baptised on 29 June 1884 in Cowfold, at which time his father was a farm
labourer. He was a 6 year old scholar in 1891. The 1910
census records that he was a 20 year old agricultural labourer, although
his name was recorded between that of 18 year old Frederick and 14 year
old Alfred.

Edith
Maria Tullett was born on 27 September 1886 at Northfields and
baptised on 31 October 1886 in Cowfold, at which time her father was a
farm labourer. She died aged 78 years on 17 November 1964 at the
Princess Alexandra Hospital in South Brisbane,
Queensland, Australia and was cremated at the Mount Thompson Crematorium
on 18 November 1964. When the 1891 census was recorded she was 4 years old.
Edith
Maria
married William Martin by banns on 6 April 1907 in Cowfold.
He was then a 22 year old bachelor and gardener of Lower Beeding, whilst
she was a 20 year old spinster of Cowfold. Their fathers were
named as Charles Martin a labourer and Alfred
Tullett a stockman. They were married by the vicar of
Lower Beeding, Sydney Dugdale. The witnesses to
their marriage were Louisa Martin and Edward
Barnard.
William was born on
3 May 1884 at Eastlands, Warninglid in Slaugham. He was the son of
Charles Martin
(1857-1937) and Sarah Straton (1861-1934). His
mother registered his birth on 9 June 1884, and at the time of his birth
his father was a farmer's carter. His paternal grandparents were
Richard
Martin (1816-?) and Lucy Carter (1824-?).
William died aged 89 years on 11 September 1973 at Princes
Alexandra Hospital in South Brisbane and was cremated at the Mount
Thompson Crematorium on 13 September 1973. When the 1891 census
was recorded, William was a 6 year old scholar living with his parents
at Copyhold in Slaugham. His father was then a shepherd. The
previous property on the census enumerators route was Eastlands which
was occupied by the family of
Walter Tullett.
William and Edith's ashes were placed in a double niche, T39, Section 45
of Columbarium 8 at Mount Thompson.

Alfred
Ernest Tullett was born on 24 December 1888 at Northfields and
baptised on 27 January 1889 in Cowfold, at which time his father was a
farm labourer. Alfred died on 25 August 1918 in Amiens, France.
He was 2 years old when the 1891 census was recorded. The 1901
census recorded that he was a 14 year old carter boy on a farm.

Nathaniel Tullett was born on 17 July 1891 at Northfields and
baptised on 30 August 1891 in Cowfold, at which time his father was a
labourer. He died in 1961 In 1901 he was 9 years old.
Nathaniel married Emily Stokes in 1913 in Cowfold.

Ellen
Margaret Tullett was born on 10 December 1893 and baptised on
28 January 1894 in Cowfold, at which time her father was a cowman.
She died on 5 December 1960 in Brisbane. She was 7 years old in
1901.
Ellen married Price Jones on 23 December
1914 in Buderim, Queensland.

Annie
Mabel Tullett was born on 21 September 1897 at Northfields and
baptised on 28 November 1897 in Cowfold, at which time her father was a
labourer. When the 1901 census was recorded she was 4 years old.
Annie married Frederick Radford in 1914 in Cowfold.
Frederick was born about 1889 in Hurstpierpoint and was the son of
Frederick Radford (1856-?) and Fanny Bowles
(1861-?).
