John TRIGWELL (1725-1784)

and Mary (?-1772)


John Trigwell and Mary married before or about 1749 and possibly in or near Seaford, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

John Trigwell was baptised on 10 January 1724/5 in Ringmer, Sussex.  He was the son of Joseph Trigwell (c1695-1730) and Elizabeth Cornwall (1697-1733).  He was buried in November 1784 in East Dean, Sussex.

Mary's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried in January 1772 in East Dean.


John Trigwell and Mary had 12 known children: 

  1. Elizabeth Trigwell was baptised on 16 May 1749 in Seaford.  Elizabeth married John Hastings by banns on 1 October 1767 in Seaford.  They were both of Seaford.

  2. William Trigwell was baptised on 31 March 1751/2 in Seaford.

    William married Sarah Richardson on 13 January 1772 in East Dean.

    Sarah Trigwell died aged 79 years was buried on 6 September 1832 in Patcham, therefore, she was born about 1753.

    William and Sarah had the following son:

    1. William Trigwell was born about 1773-5.  He married Catherine Sturt in 1798.  (They have their own page.)

  3. John Trigwell was born and died in 1753 in East Dean.

  4. Joseph Trigwell was born in 1754 in East Dean.  He married Mary Simmonds in 1774.  (They have their own page.)

  5. Mary Trigwell was born in 1757 in East Dean.

  6. John Trigwell was born in 1759 in East Dean.

  7. Sarah Trigwell was born in 1761 in East Dean.

  8. Charles Trigwell was baptised on 24 July 1763 in Friston.  He was buried in 1775 in East Dean.

  9. Grace Trigwell was born in 1765 in East Dean.

  10. Richard Trigwell was born in 1767 in East Dean.

    A Richard Trigwell married Mary Miller by banns on 5 August 1800 in Brighton.  He was a bachelor and she a spinster and they were both Brighton.

  11. Samuel Trigwell was born in January 1770 and buried on 20 May 1770 in East Dean.

  12. Ann Trigwell was born in January 1700 and buried on 10 May 1770 in East Dean.
