Thomas Town and Sarah Short married on 25 December
in Steyning, Sussex. (They were not my direct ancestors. Thomas
was the nephew of my 7x great grandmother Elizabeth Cook.)
Thomas Town was baptised on 12 June 1737 in Steyning.
He was the son of John Town
and Ann Cook
Sarah Short's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown,
to me. She may have been baptised on 12 October 1746 in Thakeham, Sussex, the daughter of
Henry Short and Sarah Harris, but unless she was baptised as a
child, rather than as an infant, she would only have been 13 years old at
Thomas Town and Sarah Short had
7 known children:
Sarah Town was baptised on 4 April 1762 in Steyning. She was
buried there on 28 July 1842.
John Town was baptised on 8 July 1764 in Steyning. He was
buried there on 8 March 1852.
Martha Smart by banns on 3 April 1793 in Brighton, Sussex.
He was then a bachelor and she a spinster and they were both of

Ann Town was baptised on 1 July 1770 in Steyning. She may
have married William Botting on 17 November 1789 in
Thomas Town was baptised on 26 April 1772 in Steyning.

Mary Town was baptised on 4 March 1774 in Steyning.
William Town was baptised on 17 March 1776 in Steyning. He
was buried in April 1813.
Ann Peacock on 13 February 1804 in Steyning.
Ann was baptised on 23
? 1783 in Steyning and was the daughter of John
Peacock and Sarah Emery. She was buried in
Steyning in July 1812.
