John TOWN (1686-?)

and Ann COOK (1702-?)


John Town and Ann Cook married on 30 September 1718 in Steyning, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

John Town was born in 1686.

Ann Cook was baptised on 1 May 1702 in Woodmancote, Sussex.  She was the daughter of Thomas Cook (1666-1711) and Anna Maria Shelley (1667-1713).


 John Town and Ann Cook had 7 known children:

  1. Elizabeth Town was baptised on 1 July 1719 in Steyning.  She died in 1719.

  2. John Town was baptised on 25 December 1720 in Steyning.

    John married Anne Goddard on 10 January 1750 in Steyning.  Anne was then a widow.

  3. William Town was baptised on 23 January 1722 in Steyning.

  4. Betty Town was baptised on 29 January 1724 in Steyning.

    Betty married Joseph French by banns on 5 October 1755 in Steyning.  They were both then of Steyning.

  5. Richard Town was baptised on 6 February 1727 in Steyning.  He married Mary Bushby in 1755.  (They have their own page.)

  6. Sarah Town was baptised on 14 October 1732 in Steyning.

  7. Thomas Town was baptised on 12 June 1737 in Steyning.  He married Sarah Short in 1759.  (They have their own page.)
