George TASKER (1661-?)

and Jane GEER (?-?)

or

George TASKER (1672-?)

and Ann VINCENT (?-?)

There is a bit of muddle here!  A 6x Great Grandmother may have been Ann Tasker, and she may have been born in either 1700 or 1703 to either George Tasker and Jane Geer or George Tasker and Ann Vincent.

George Tasker and Jane Geer married by licence on 26 January 1687/8 in Ifield, Sussex.  Their marriage licence was issued by the Archdeaconry of Lewes on 23 January 1687/8, which noted he was from Balcombe and she a spinster of Cuckfield.  Surety for the licence was provided by George and Silvanus Austen a butcher of Lewes.

George Tasker and Ann Vincent married on 29 December 1697 in Slaugham, Sussex.

George Tasker was baptised in 1661 in Balcombe.  He was the son of George Tasker.  (I would think he married Jane in 1688).

George Tasker was baptised on 14 February 1672 in Balcombe.  He was the son of Ninyon Tasker.  (I would think he married Ann in 1697.)

A George Tasker was buried on 29 December 1731 and another on 13 September 1741, both in Balcombe.  (Did either leave a will?)

Jane Geer's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Jane Tasker was buried on 1 January 1725 in Balcombe.  If she was 18 when she married then she was born before 1670 and if she was about 46 when her last known child was born in 1703 then she was born after 1657.

Ann Vincent's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  If she was 18 when she married then she was born before 1679 and if she was about 46 when her last known child was born in 1720 then she was born after 1674.  Might she have been the daughter of John Vincent and Jane Brett who married in 1677 in Balcombe?  (Jane Vincent was buried on 21 February 1682 in Balcombe.  The burial register noted she was the wife of John, of young age and died at Shermanbury.)
