John SWIFT
(1635-?)
and Sarah (?-1668)

John Swift
and Sarah may have married before or about 1662, but no
possible marriage has been found in the IGI or the Sussex Family History
Group's marriage index. Unless they were John Swift and
Sarah Boarne who married on 22 September 1656 in Strood near Rochester,
Kent (IGI).
John Swift may have been baptised
on 1 March 1634/5 in Salehurst, Sussex and have been the son of
Samuel Swift (1611-1660) and
Constance Reade (1608-1659). However, there was another
John Swift who
was baptised on 13 September 1646 in Salehurst, the son of
John Swift (1613-?) and
Sarah Bonar.
Sarah's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. She was buried on
12 October 1668 in Salehurst.
John Swift and Sarah had 4
known children:
-
Mary
Swift may have been born in 1662. She was buried on 21 April
1662 in Salehurst as Mary daughter of John Swift.
-
Sarah Swift
was baptised on 5 July 1663 in Salehurst. Only her father's name was
recorded in the baptism register. She was buried on 27 June 1668 in
Salehurst as Sarah daughter of John Swift and Sarah.
-
John Swift
was baptised on 1 July 1666 in Salehurst. Only his father's name was
recorded in the baptism register. He was buried on 11 July 1668 in
Salehurst as John son of John Swift and Sarah.
-
Elizabeth
Swift was baptised on 5 April 1668 in Salehurst and her parent's names
were recorded as John and Sarah. The IGI records that she was
baptised in Rye, Sussex.
