Thomas STREETER (1804-1882)
and Phoebe CARD (1803-1865)

Thomas Streeter
and Phoebe Card married by banns on 12 September 1824 in
Rotherfield, Sussex. He was a bachelor and she a spinster and they
were both of Rotherfield. The witnesses to their marriage were
Charles Card and Thomas Cole. (They were not
my direct ancestors.)
Thomas
Streeter was baptised on 8 July 1804 in Groombridge, Sussex.
He was the son of Thomas Streeter and
Mary Reed.
Thomas died aged 79 years and his death was registered in the fourth quarter
of 1882 in the Uckfield registration district.
Phoebe Card
was baptised on 9 October 1803 in Rotherfield. She was the daughter of
Richard Card and Mary Wheatly.
Phoebe's death was registered in the third quarter of 1865 in the Uckfield
registration district.
When the 1841
census was recorded the couple and 6 children were living at Brattles in
Rotherfield. Thomas and Phoebe were both said to be 35 years old and
he was an agricultural labourer.
In 1851, the couple
and 4 children were living in Battles Cottage (could be Rattles),
Rotherfield. Thomas was a 46 year old agricultural labourer and Pheby
was 49. They were both said to have been born in Rotherfield.
Also with the family was 21 year old servant and visitor Harriett
Butt and 1 year old niece Anna Hunt (I think
that's her surname).

Mary Streeter was born on 4 October 1825 and baptised
on 30 October 1825 in Rotherfield.

James Streeter was born born on 27 December 1827 and
baptised on 20 January 1828 in Rotherfield. He was 13 years old in
1841.
James married Harriet Pratt on 27 April 1851 in
Rotherfield.
Harriet was baptised on 31 December 1829 in Rotherfield and was the
daughter of David Pratt (1808-1892) and Esther
Pollington (1810-1857).

Thomas Streeter was born on 14 April 1830 and baptised
no 9 May 1830 in Rotherfield. He was 11 years old in 1841.
In 1851 he was an unmarried 23 year old agricultural labourer and living
with his parents.

Phoebe Streeter was born about 1834. She was 7
years old in 1841.

George Streeter was baptised on 27 July 1834 in
Rotherfield. He was 6 years old in 1841.

Obed Streeter was baptised on 2 April 1837 in
Rotherfield. He was 5 years old in 1841. In 1851 he was a 14
year old agricultural labourer.

Ellen Streater was born on 17 November 1840 and
baptised on 5 January 1840 in Rotherfield. She was a year old when
the 1841 census was recorded. In 1851 she was 11 years old.

Anne Streeter was born on 29 October and baptised on 11
December 1842 in Rotherfield. She was 8 years old in 1851.
