Roger STREETER (1687-1759)

and Clement (?-1759)

 

Roger Streeter and Clement married sometime before or about 1715 and possibly in or near Shipley, Sussex although nothing possible appears in the Sussex marriage index by searching for any Roger or Clement/Clemence who married 5 years either side of 1715.  Might they have married in Surrey?

Roger Streater was baptised on 6 February 1686/7 in Shipley.  He was the son of Roger Streter (?-1687) and Mary Thorndon.  Roger was buried on 27 June 1759 in Shipley.

Clement wife of Roger Streater was buried on 25 April 1759 in Shipley.

 

Roger Streeter and Clement had the following children:

  1. John Streater may have been part of this family and have been born about 1716.

  2. Mary Streeter was baptised on 3 February 1718/9 in Shipley.  Only her father's name was recorded in the baptism register.  Mary married John Newman in 1747.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Richard Streeter was baptised on 7 November 1721 in Shipley.  A transcript of the baptism register names his parents as Roger and Elizabeth.  He may have been buried on 1 September 1778 in Shipley.

    Richard may have married Mary Penfold by banns on 16 May 1763 in Shipley, Sussex.

    Mary Streater may have been buried on 18 September 1778 in Shipley.

    Richard and Mary had the following children:

    1. Mary Streater was baptised on 6 January 1764 in Shipley and buried there on 14 March 1764.

    2. Jude Streeter was baptised on 2 February 1766 in Shipley.

      Judith Streater had the following children:

      1. Richard Streater was baptised on 15 February 1788 in Shipley.  The baptism register noted that his mother was a pauper.

      2. James Streater was baptised on 8 March 1801 in Shipley and buried there on 12 March 1801.

      3. Henry Streater was baptised on 7 November 1802 in Shipley and buried there on 12 June 1804.

      4. Mary Streater was baptised on 14 October 1804 in Shipley.

      5. Sarah Streater was baptised on 31 May 1807 in Shipley and buried there on 16 May 1808.

      6. Rebecca Streater was baptised on 2 October 1808 in Shipley.

    3. Richard Streeter was baptised on 23 April 1769 in Shipley.

  4. Ragan Slatow was baptised on 15 January 1723/4 in Shipley.  A transcript of the baptism register names his parents as Roger and Clemat.  He married Catherine Coomber in 1759.  (They have their own page.)

  5. William Slatow was baptised on 5 December 1725 in Shipley.  A transcript of the baptism register names his parents as Robert and Clemet.
