Stedman wife of Richard was buried on 30 August 1752 in Slaugham.
It would appear there were 2 Richards who had children baptised in Slaugham at
the same time. The other
Richard Stedman was of
Cuckfield and had married Ann
Tasker in 1728. I am assuming the baptisms in 1698 and 1701
relate to the 2 Richards, but which was which?
At the Lewes Quarter Sessions held on 11 and 12 January 1739 a removal order was
confirmed to remove Richard Stedman his wife Anne
and their children Anne, Richard and
Thomas from Bolney to Slaugham.
