Sylvester and Elizabeth Bagshal
were my step 7x Great Grandparents. (Click
see their place in my pedigree chart.) They married on 2 February
1723/4 in Edburton, Sussex. (I believe Backshall would have been the more common spelling.)
Richard Silvester may have been
baptised on 27 March 1692 in Botolphs, Sussex, and have been the son of
(c1640-1692) and Mary (?-1695).
date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me. She may have been buried on 27
November 1759 in Edburton, but I would think this burial is for the
Elizabeth who married Thomas Silverson in 1716 - he would seem to
have been buried in Edburton in 1755. Might she have been baptised as
Elizabeth Bagshaw on 4 December 1691 in Henfield, Sussex,
the daughter of Samuel Bagshaw and Mary Barber?
Richard Silvester and
Elizabeth Backshall had 2 known children:
was baptised on 13 March 1725/6 in Edburton. He married
