Moses SETFORD

Setford and
Mary Wakeling or Wekeling
married by banns on 29 January 1787 in Little Horsted, Sussex.
He was then of Newick and she of Little Horsted. The banns were
published in Newick.
Moses
Setford may have been the son of
John Setford
and Ann.
Mary Wakeling
- nothing more known, to me.
Moses Setford and Mary
Wakeling had 10 known children:

William Setford was baptised on 6 January 1788 in Lindfield,
Sussex. In 1851 he was an unmarried servant and general labourer
living in the High Street, Lindfield.

Elizabeth Setford was baptised on 29 March 1793 in Lindfield.

James Setford was baptised on 23 August 1795 in Barcombe, Sussex.
James married Ann Agates by licence on 15 April 1817 in East
Grinstead, Sussex. Their marriage licence was issued on 14 April
1817 by the Archdeaconry of Lewes and recorded that James was a labourer
of Lindfield aged 21 years and upwards. Ann was then a spinster of
East Grinstead aged 18 years and upwards and married with the consent of
her father Richard Agates a labourer of West Hoathly.
Sponsorship of the licence was provided by James himself and Ralph
Newman a shopkeeper of East Grinstead.

Mary Ann Setford was baptised on 8 October 1797 in Lindfield.
She may have died age 27 years and have been buried as Mary Setford
on 20 March 1824 at St. Peter and St. Paul in Lingfield, Surrey.

Martha Setford was baptised on 9 February 1800 in Lindfield.
On 22 February 1815 a maintenance agreement was arranged between 15 year
old Martha, her father and William Beard, master. Another
maintenance agreement was arranged on 5 March 1817 between 16 year old
Martha and her father.

Lucy Setford was baptised on 9 February 1800 in Lindfield. On
22 February 1815 a maintenance agreement was arranged between 15 year old
Lucy, her father and Henry Podmore, master.

Thomas Setford was baptised on 23 January 1803 in Lindfield.
A maintenance agreement was arranged on 22 February 1815, between 11 year
old Thomas and his father. Another maintenance agreement was
arranged on 5 March 1817 between 13 year old Thomas, his father and Mr.
Podmore, master. Then on 10 March 1818 Thomas was put out to
work for Henry Podmore, master.

John Setford was baptised on 18 March 1804 in Lindfield and buried
there on 19 May 1805.

Charity Setford was baptised on 28 August 1807 in Lindfield.

Richard Setford was baptised on 30 September 1810 in Lindfield.
