and Sarah PATIENT (1812-?)

John Restall and Sarah Patient married on 16 February 1841 at Old Church
in St. Pancras, London. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
John Restall was born on 24 May 1812 and baptised on 22 June 1812 in
Trotton, Sussex. He was the son of
John Restall (1779-1852)
and Sophia Campbell
(c1783-1854). John died between 1861 and 1871.
Sarah Patient was baptised on
18 October 1812 in Roxwell, Essex. She was the daughter of Thomas Patient
and Anna. She was a widow by 1871 and she was living in Mid Lavant, Sussex as a housekeeper/charwoman
in the home of William Challen. The death of
Sarah Restall aged 62 years was registered in the fourth quarter of
1876 in the Westhampnett registration district.
When the 1841 census was recorded John Restall, junior was living
at Comb Lodge in Rogate, Sussex and he was a 28 year old dealer. The
head of the household was 60 year old John Restall.
The 1851 census records that John Restall and his wife Sarah

cattle dealer and gave his place of birth as Trotton, Sussex. His
wife was 36 years old and had been born in Thaxted in Essex. Also
with them were 3 children, Edward Restall aged 9, John Restall
