and Ann (?-?)
George Quait and Ann Mills married on 17
May 1738 in Horsham, Sussex. She was a widow.
(They were not my direct ancestors.)
George Quait's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown,
to me. Might he have been was baptised on 25 January 1692 in Farnham,
Surrey, the son of George Quait? Another
George Quait married
Elizabeth in about 1711.
Ann's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
She may have been buried as Ann Quait, widow on 12 February
1770 in Horsham.
As Ann Willoughby she may have previously married
Edman Mills on 23 May 1731 in Horsham. He was from Horsham
and she from Sullington.
Edman Mills was buried on 21 March 1734/5 in Horsham.
The burial register described him as a householder. Edman
Mills, junior and a labourer, was buried on 4 June 1735 in Horsham.
(I am guessing Edman junior married Ann.)
Edman and Ann had 4 known children:
Mary Mills was baptised on 19 December 1731 in Horsham.
A transcript of the baptism register recorded her parents ad Edman and
Mary may have married Benjamin Perry on 27 December
1757 in Horsham. He was a husbandman from Oxted, Surrey. The
witnesses to their marriage were William Quait and
Ann Mills was baptised on 22 February 1732/3 in

Horsham. He died aged 45 years in Southwater and was buried on

Sarah Quait was baptised on 11 February 1741 in
Horsham. She may have been buried there on 26 August 1753.
The burial register noted that she was a child. Another
was baptised in Horsham in July 1753, although if it was her burial I
would have thought she would have been described as an infant.

The banns of marriage were published in Worth in 1763 between George Quait
of Oxted, Surrey and Sarah Bishe of Worth.
