Thomas PRONGER (1722-1767)

and Mary PETERS (c1720-1805)

 

Thomas Pronger and Mary Peters married on 29 May 1744 in Nuthurst, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Thomas Pronger was baptised on 15 April 1722 in Nuthurst, Sussex.  He was the son of Thomas Pronger (1681-?) and Sarah Halloway (1685-1755).  Thomas may have been buried on 30 November 1767 in Nuthurst.  Unfortunately the burial register gives no further information, other than Thos. Pronger was buried.

Mary Peters date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  Might she have been baptised on 2 April 1724 in Slaugham, Sussex and have been the daughter of William Peters and Mary Tidy?  She died aged 85 years and was buried on 23 June 1805 in Nuthurst.

 

Thomas Pronger and Mary Peters had 7 known children:

  1. John Pronger was baptised on 5 May 1745 in Nuthurst.  He married Ann Peters in 1778.  (They have their own page.)

  2. Betty Pronger was baptised on 1 March 1746 in Nuthurst.

    As Elizabeth Pronger she may have married James Feast by banns on 15 May 1769 in Nuthurst.

    (Another Betty Pronger was born in 1754 and married Stephen Sayers in 1774.)

    James and Elizabeth had the following known children:

    1. Mary Feast was baptised on 9 December 1770 in Nuthurst.  Did she marry Philip Cooper by banns on 26 December 1793 in Shipley?  They were both of Shipley.

    2. Ann Feist was baptised on 1 August 1773 in Nuthurst.  Did she marry William Bland by banns on 17 February 1801 in West Grinstead?  They were both of West Grinstead.

    3. John Feist was baptised on 18 June 1775 in Nuthurst.  Did he marry Mary Bristow by banns on 14 February 1809 in West Grinstead?  They were both of West Grinstead.

    4. James Feast was baptised on 11 April 1779 in Nuthurst.

    5. William Feist was baptised on 8 April 1781 in Nuthurst.

    6. Edmond Feist was baptised on 8 August 1784 in Nuthurst and buried there on 4 October 1784.

    7. Elizabeth Fiest was baptised on 23 July 1786 in Nuthurst.

  3. Richard Pronger was baptised on 7 May 1749 in Nuthurst.  He married Ann Mose in 1775.  (They have their own page.)

  4. Martha Pronger was baptised on 12 May 1751 in Nuthurst.  Martha Tulett wife of John was buried on 29 May 1783 in Nuthurst. 

    As Sarah Pronger she most probably married John Tulet on 10 May 1774 in Nuthurst.  They were both then of Nuthurst.

    John was the son of William Toolet and Susan Feast.

  5. Edmund Pronger was baptised on 30 September 1753 in Nuthurst.  He married Susanna Davy in 1775.  (They have their own page.)

  6. Mary Pronger was baptised on 16 October 1757 in Nuthurst and buried there on 10 June 1758.  The burial register noted that she was the daughter of Thomas Pronger.

  7. James Pronger was baptised on 23 October 1763 in Nuthurst.  He may have married Elizabeth Simmons in 1790.  (They have their own page.)
