Richard PRONGER (1749-1821)
and Ann MOSE (c1750-?)

Richard Pronger and Ann Mose married by
banns on 5 June 1775 in Nuthurst, Sussex. They were both of Nuthurst.
(They were not my direct ancestors.)
Richard Pronger was baptised on 7 May 1749 in Nuthurst,
Sussex. He was the son of
Thomas Pronger
(1722-1767) and Mary Peters
(c1720-1805). Richard died aged 72 years and was buried on 26 August
1821 in Nuthurst. On 17 December 1775, Richard was a witness to the
marriage of William Jupp, a husbandman from Beeding alias
Seale, and Mary Moase, spinster, in Horsham.
Ann Mose's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to
me. Might she have been the daughter of Henry Mose
and Sarah Weller who married in Horsham, Sussex in 1741?
An Ann Pronger died aged 77 years and was buried on 9
November 1827 in Nuthurst, therefore, she was born about 1750. Another
Ann Pronger died aged 90 years at Copsale and was buried on 3
October 1838 in Nuthurst, therefore, born about 1748. However, there
was another Ann Pronger possibly of similar age who was married to
John Pronger
(1745-1827).
Richard Pronger and Ann Mose had
5 known children:
-
Henry Pronger was baptised on 10 September 1775 in
Nuthurst. He married
Charlotte White in 1797.
(They have their own page.)
-
James Pronger was baptised on 30 March 1777 in Nuthurst.
A James Pronger was a witness to the
marriage of Edward Mills and Ann Reynolds
on 26 December 1797 in Horsham.
James may have married
Elizabeth Buckwell on 28 July 1801 in Chailey, Sussex.
Elizabeth was the daughter of
William
Buckwell and
Alice Jarvis
(1753-1797).
-
Jane Pronger was baptised on 19 December 1779 in
Nuthurst.
Jane married
