Henry Pronger and Charlotte White married by banns on 6 November 1797 in Cowfold, Sussex.  He was then from Nuthurst and she was of Cowfold.  The witnesses to their marriage were William Mills and William Hills.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

Henry Pronger was baptised on 10 September 1775 in Nuthurst, Sussex.  He was the son of Richard Pronger (1749-1821) and Ann Mose (c1750-?).  Henry died aged 77 years and was buried on 9 December 1852 in Nuthurst.

Charlotte White was baptised on 26 February 1778 in Cowfold, Sussex.  She was the daughter of William White (1746-?) and Catherine Foreman (1750-?).  Charlotte died aged 71 years in Mannings Heath and was buried on 28 December 1849 in Nuthurst.

When the 1841 census was recorded the couple were living at Mannings Heath within the parish of Nuthurst.  Henry was then said to be a 65 year old sawyer and Charlotte was 60.  They were living next door to William Mose and Hannah Mose who were both 40 years old.

In 1851, Henry was a 76 year old widower and sawyer.  He was living in Mannings Heath in the home of 35 year old Thomas Pronger and his family.

Henry Pronger and Charlotte White had 6 known children:

  1. Mary Ann Pronger was baptised on 6 May 1798 in Cowfold.

  2. Charlotte Pronger was baptised on 21 July 1799 in Nuthurst.
