John PELLIN
(c1760-?)
and Susannah TURLE (c1760-?)

John Pellin and Susannah Turle married on
25 April 1783 in Newtimber, Sussex. (They were not my direct
ancestors.)
John Pellin's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown,
to me.
Susannah Turle's date and place of birth/baptism are
unknown, to me.
John Pellin and
Susanna Turle had 7 known children:
-
Susanna
Pellen was baptised on 2 March 1784 in Newtimber. As
Susanna Pelling she may have married Thomas
Cooter by banns on 2 November 1803 in Brighton, Sussex.
They were both single and both of Brighton.
-
Richard Pellen
was baptised on 10 April 1785 in Newtimber. His parents were named
as Richard and Susanna, but I would think his father's name was wrongly
recorded. He married
Elizabeth Cornford
in 1804. (They have their own page.)
-
Henry
Pellen was baptised on 25 March 1787 in Newtimber.
Henry married Elizabeth Dodd on 11 October 1809 at St.
Nicholas in Brighton.
When the 1851 census was recorded the couple were living at 14 King
Street, Brighton. He was a 64 year old green grocer and gave his
place of birth as Newtimber. Elizabeth was 62 and said she was
born in Withdean. Also with them on census night was their 10 year
old granddaughter, Sally M. Pelling
and 82 year old pauper and widowed mother Sarah Dodd.
-
James
Pellen was baptised on 23 April 1789 in Newtimber.
-
John Pellen was baptised on 11 March
1792 in Newtimber.
As John Pelling he may have married
Charlotte Holder by banns on 24 February 1816 in Woodmancote,
Sussex. He was then a
bachelor and she a spinster and they were
both of Woodmancote.
-
Ann
Pellen was baptised on 14 September 1794 in Newtimber.
-
William
Pellen was baptised on 21 September 1797 in Newtimber.
As William Pelling he married Sarah Shoulder
by banns on 29 December 1819 in Brighton, Sussex. He was a
bachelor of Newtimber and she a spinster of Brighton.
William and Sarah had the following children:
-
Stephen Pelling was born on 10 September and baptised on 1
October 1820 in Poynings, Sussex.
-
James Pelling was born on 25 December 1822 and baptised on
5 January 1823 in Poynings.
-
George Pelling was baptised on 13 March 1825 in Poynings.
