William PIERCE (1750-?)

and Ann TYLER (c1750-?)

 

William Pierce and Ann Tyler married by licence on 1 January 1777 in Brighton, Sussex.  Their marriage licence was issued by the Archdeaconry of Lewes on 31 December 1776, which recorded that William was a 26 year old bachelor and yeoman of the parish of St. Michael's, Lewes and Ann a 26 year old spinster of Brighton.

William Pierce may have been baptised on 17 June 1750 in Ringmer, Sussex and have been the son of William Pierce (1725-?) and Mary Crouch (1726-?).

 

William Pierce and Ann Tyler had 6 known children:

  1. William Peirce was born on 16 November 1777 and baptised on 16 December 1777 at All Saints, Lewes.

  2. Ann Peirce was born on 9 April 1779 and baptised on 18 May 1779 at All Saints, Lewes.

  3. William Peirce was baptised on 9 September 1780 at All Saints, Lewes.

  4. Mary Ann Pierce was born on 16 August 1782 and baptised on 29 October 1782 at All Saints, Lewes.

  5. Lucy Ann Pierce was born on 2 January 1784 and baptised on 5 February 1784 at All Saints, Lewes.

    Lucy Ann may have married William Boxall by licence on 4 August 1813 in Falmer, Sussex.  Their Archdeaconry of Lewes marriage licence was issued on 23 July 1813 and noted that they were both over 21 years old,  she was a spinster of Falmer and he a bachelor of Brighton.

    William and Lucy Ann had the following children:

    1. William Percival Boxall was born on 16 May 1814 baptised on 4 November 1814 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    2. George Boxall was baptised on 29 November 1816 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    3. Henry William Boxall was baptised on 4 February 1818 at St. Nicholas, Brighton,

    4. Lucy Ann Boxall was born on 19 April 1819 and baptised on 29 September 1819 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    5. Frederick Boxall was born on 19 October 1820 and baptised on 6 December 1820 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

    6. Charlotte Boxall was baptised on 15 January 1823 at St. Nicholas, Brighton.

  6. Christina Pierce was born on 25 July 1786 and baptised on 4 October 1784 at All Saints, Lewes.
