Stephen PEARCE (c1694-1758)

and Mary LANGRIDGE (1701-1766)

 

Stephen Pierce and Mary Langridge may have been my 6x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their possible place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 18 June 1719 in Fletching, Sussex.

Stephen Pearce may have been born about 1694 and he may have been the son of Stephen Pearce (?-1727) and Jane Turner (1662-1727).  He was most probably buried on 13 October 1758 in Fletching.

Mary Langridge was baptised on 14 September 1701 in Fletching.  She was the daughter of Richard Langridge (1675-1737) and Elizabeth (?-1724).  She was most probably buried on 31 May 1766 in Fletching, however, the burial register only records that widow Pearce from the workhouse was buried.

 

Stephen Pearce and Mary Langridge may have had 7 known children:

  1. Richard Pierce was baptised on 11 May 1720 in Fletching and buried there of 22 January 1720/1.

  2. Stephen Peirce was born about 1723 and buried on 9 June 1724 in Fletching.

  3. James Pierce was baptised on 4 May 1725 in Fletching and buried there on 22 February 1745.  The burial register noted that he was the son of Stephen.

  4. Elizabeth Peirce was baptised on 2 or 11 February 1729/30 in Fletching.

  5. Stephen Perce was baptised on 19 November 1732 in Fletching.

  6. Jane Pierce was baptised on 19 March 1735/6 in Fletching.

  7. Richard Pearce, my possible 5x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 23 May 1740 in Fletching.  He married Ann Bennet in 1768.  (They have their own page.)
