Edward PAYNE (1560-1643)
and Anna PAYNE (?-?)

I have taken the following from John Comber's Sussex Genealogies, Ardingly
Centre - there is more in the book.
Edward Payne
and Anna Payne married
on 23 October 1583 in Twineham, Sussex.
Edward Payne
was baptised on 1 December 1560 in East Grinstead, Sussex. He was the
son of Edward Payne (c1540-1599) and Katherine
Losco (?-1600).
Anna Payne was the daughter of John Payne
a yeoman of Hickstead.
Edward Payne and Anna Payne had 6 known children:

Timothy Payne was baptised on 3 October 1585 in East
Grinstead and buried there on 21 June 1611. She was mentioned in
her maternal grandfather's will of 1596. Timothy married
William Alfrey on 4 May 1601 in East Grinstead. William
was a gent of Lye Green and Withyam.

Agnes Payne was baptised on 15 September 1588 in East
Grinstead and buried there on 14 October 1588.

Susan Payne was baptised on 1 November 1590 in East
Grinstead. She was mentioned in her grandfather's 1599 will and
that of her father in 1639. Susan married Thomas Dyne
of East Grinstead on 16 September 1608 in London.

Edward Payne was baptised on 21 October 1593 in East
Grinstead. He was buried in October 1660 in East Grinstead.
Edward married Hanna Yerwood on 22 April 1619 at St.
Saviours, Southwark. She was the daughter of Richard
Yerwood of Southwark.
Edward and Hanna had the following children:

Anne Payne married John Michelborne on
29 April 1639 in East Grinstead.

Timothy Payne was mentioned in her grandfather's 1639
will.

Susan Payne was mentioned in her grandfather's 1639
will and her mother's will of 1675. She married Robert
Pickering on 3 February 1651/2 in East Grinstead.

Edward Payne was of East Grinstead and buried there on
2 April 1689.
Edward married Elizabeth Newman.
She was the daughter of William Newman a gent of
Hailsham and Ann Alfrey (daughter of William
Alfrey and Timothy Payne).

Grinstead and buried there on 8 December 1693. She did not marry.

will. He was buried on 12 July 1645 in East Grinstead.

Robert Payne was baptised on 14 September 1634 in East
Grinstead. He was a gent of Newick. He was buried in the
chancel of East Grinstead Church on 12 December 1708.

Charles Payne was baptised on 25 September 1638 in East
Grinstead. He married twice, firstly to Judith Cole
on 1 July 1658 in East Grinstead. She was the daughter of
John Cole and Bridget. Charles then
married Ann in 1676.

Henry Payne was baptised on 20 September 1640 in East
Grinstead. He was also a gent of Newick. He was buried in
the chancel of East Grinstead Church on 10 July 1708.

Catherine Payne was baptised on 17 April 1597 in East
Grinstead and buried there on 4 February 1624/5. Catherine married
William Cooke of Heene on 3 December 1613 in West
Hoathly.

Anne Payne was baptised on 6 December 1601 in East
Grinstead and buried there on 26 December 1680/1.
