Nelson Edgar NUNN (1896-?)

and Hilda Blanche AYLING (1892-?)

Nelson Edgar Nunn and Hilda Blanche Ayling married in the fourth quarter of 1919 in Brighton, Sussex.  (They were not my direct ancestors.  Their daughter married my dad's brother.)

Nelson Edgar Nunn was born about 1896 in Stoke Ash, Suffolk.  He was the son of Charles Nunn (c1858-?) and Elizabeth Lummis (c1864-?).  I remember he was knocked over and killed on the Old Shoreham Road in Southwick, sometime in the 1970's.

Hilda Blanche Ayling was born about 1892 in Brighton, Sussex.  Her birth was registered in the first quarter of 1892 as Hilda Ayling.  She was the daughter of Edmund Ayling (1865-?) and Clara Keeler (1873-?).  She died after her husband.  At the time of the 1901 census she was a 9 year old scholar and living with her parents at 33 Ewart Street in Brighton.  Her father was then a carrier's carter.

Nelson Edgar Nunn and Hilda Blanche Ayling had 2 children:

  1. Walter Edgar Nunn was born on 18 November 1920.  He died in March 1994 in Felpham, Sussex.  Walter married Minnie Smith.  They had 2 children.

  2. Joyce Mary Nunn was born on 24 October 1927 in Brighton, Sussex.  She died on 15 October 2001 in Nowra, New South Wales, Australia.  Joyce married Harold Willard in 1948.  He was the son of William Charles Willard (1894-1848) and Bessie Warman (1900-1987).
