1796 in Horley, Surrey. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
William Newnham was baptised on 17 July 1771 in
Balcombe, Sussex. He was the son of
Mildred Faulconer (1748-1807). He died in 1857.
Mildred Newnham was baptised on 10 May 1777 in Horley, Sussex.
She was the daughter of
John Newnham (1737-1820) and
(1739-1829). Mildred was mentioned in her father's will as the
wife of William Newnham. She died aged 45 years
and was buried on 21 October 1821 in Ardingly. The burial register
noted that she was from Balcombe.
When the 1841 census was recorded, William was said to be 65 years old
and he was living at Lullings in Balcombe. Also with him was his
daughter Caroline and 3 year old Emily Newnham, 1 year
old James Newnham and 2 servants namely
Susannah Orton aged 15 and 13 year old Hannah Marshall.

Harriet Newnham was born on 6 April 1897 and baptised
on 22 May 1797 in Ardingly.
Harriet may have married John Michell by banns on 15
October 1827 in Balcombe. They were both of Balcombe.
Mary Newnham was born on 3 December 1798 and baptised
on 4 January 1799 in Ardingly. She died aged 33 years and was
buried on 11 June 1832 in Ardingly. The burial register noted that
she was from White House in Balcombe.
Elizabeth Newnham was born on 16 December 1800 and
baptised on 8 March 1801 in Ardingly.
John Newnham was born on 18 December 1802 and baptised
on 22 May 1803 in Ardingly. He may have died aged 38 years and
have been buried on 7 October 1841 in Ardingly. The burial
register noted that he was from Hapstead. Or, he may have died
aged 71 years and have been buried on 27 May 1874 in Ardingly. The
burial register noted that he was from West Hill.
William Newnham was born on 19 March 1805 and baptised
on 23 June 1805 in Ardingly. The baptism register noted that his
father was William Newnham, junior.
William may have married Elizabeth Turner by licence 7
October 1828 in West Hoathly. The witnesses to their marriage were
George Booker, Mary Turner and
Harriett Booker. Their marriage licence
was issued by the Archdeaconry of Lewes on 4 October 1828 and noted that
he was a bachelor and yeoman of Balcombe and she a spinster of West
Hoathly. Elizabeth married with the consent of William
Caroline Newnham was baptised on 7 April 1807 in
Balcombe. The 1841 census recorded that she was 25 years old.
Louisa Newnham was baptised on 15 June 1810 in Balcombe.
Thomas Newnham was baptised on 2 November 1812 in
Balcombe. He died aged 9 years and was buried on 6 December 1821
in Ardingly. The burial register noted that he was from Balcombe.
Edward Newnham was baptised on 15 September 1816 in
Balcombe. He died aged 14 years and was buried on 14 November 1830
in Ardingly. The burial register noted that he was from White
House in Balcombe.
Anne Newnham was baptised on 1 October 1820 in Balcombe.
Anne married Alfred Turner on 1 May 1846 in Lambeth,
