Thomas NEWMAN (c1630-1713)

and Mary LONGELEE (c1630-1667)

and Mary HUNT (1630-1705)

 

Thomas Newnam and Mary Hunt were my 7x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  They married on 5 December 1667 in Shipley, Sussex.  Previously as Thomas Newman he had married Mary Longelee on 6 July 1665 in Shipley.

Thomas Newman's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was buried on 24 June 1713 in Shipley and the burial register recorded that he was Thomas Newnham, senior.

Mary Longelee's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 26 July 1667 in Shipley, and the burial register recorded that she was Mary wife of Thomas Newman.

Mary Hunt was probably baptised on 11 April 1630 in Billingshurst, Sussex.  She was the daugther of Richard Hunt and Elizabeth Edes.  She was buried on 21 June 1705 in Shipley and the burial register recorded that she was Mary wife of Thomas Newman, senior.

 

Thomas Newman and Mary Longelee had 1 known son and possibly a daughter:

  1. Mary Newman was buried in January 1665/6 in Shipley.  Only her name was recorded in the burial register so I don't know if she was a daughter of Thomas and Mary.  Her burial was the first Newman burial recorded in the Shipley registers.

  2. John Newman was baptised on 21 June 1667 in Shipley.  His baptism was the first Newman baptism recorded in the Shipley registers.  He was buried on 5 September 1667 in Shipley.

 

Thomas Newman and Mary Hunt had 2 known sons:

  1. Thomas Newman, my 6x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 9 October 1668 in Shipley.  He married twice, firstly to Ann Deane in 1693 and then to Ann Davis in 1711.  (They have their own page.)

  2. John Newman was baptised on 25 March 1673 in Shipley.  He married Timothy Fivens in 1696.  (They have their own page.)

 

HUNT          LONGLEY          NEWMAN
