Marchant and Mary
Nokes married on 13 July 1748 in
Salehurst, Sussex. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
Thomas Marchant
was baptised on 19 March 1723/4 in Ticehurst, Sussex. He was the son of
Thomas Marchant
and Mary Kempe
(?-1744). On 21 August 1738 he began a 7 year Apprenticeship with
Francis Daw a Cordwainer of Robertsbridge in Salehurst.
Mary Nokes
may have been baptised on 20 August 1728 in Ticehurst, and have been the
daughter of John Nokes and Anne. Or she may have been
baptised as Mary Ann Nokes on 28 September 1729 in Salehurst as the
daughter of William Nokes and Elizabeth.
Thomas Marchant
and Mary Noakes had 8 known children:
