Richard MARCHANT (c1590-1667)
and Mary ELLIOTT (1597-?)
Richard Marchante and
Mary Ellatt
married on 16 January 1615/6 in
Rotherfield, Sussex. (They were not my direct ancestors, but Mary was the
sister of my 10x Great Grandfather Alexander Elliott.)
Richard Marchant
was born about 1590 and was of Mayfield, Sussex. He was buried on 2
March 1667.
Mary Elliott
was baptised on 25 September 1597 in Mayfield. She was the daughter
of John Elliott (1545-1632). The IGI also states she was born about
1594 in Rotherfield.
Richard Marchant
and Mary Elliott had 6 known children:

Mary Marchant was baptised on 5 January 1616/7 in Mayfield.

Joane Marchant was born about 1618-1624 in Mayfield.

Richard Merchant was baptised on 30
April 1620 in Mayfield. He died in April 1682.

Katherine Merchant was baptised on 16 March 1622/3 in Mayfield.

Elizabeth Marchant was born about 1624-6 in Mayfield. She married
twice. Firstly to Thomas Bennett (1624-1675) on 26 September 1650
in Warbleton, Sussex. She then to John Isted on 27 April 1676 in
Dallington, Sussex.

Luke Marchant
(1629-1678) married Elizabeth Bodle
in 1660. (They have their own page.)
