of Godstone, Surrey and a witnesses to the marriage was James Marchant.

Jarrett married on 19 September 1768 in
Balcombe, Sussex. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
Michael Marchant
was born on 28 November 1740 and baptised on 21 December 1740 in
Ardingly, Sussex. He was the eighth child and fourth son of
Edward
Marchant (1696-1761) and
Sarah
Simmonds (1700-1774). He died aged 74 years and was buried on 5 August
1815 in Balcombe.
Elizabeth Snelling's date and place of birth are unknown. There
were no known children from her marriage to Michael.
Elizabeth Jarret
was baptised on 27 August 1742 in Bolney. She was the daughter of
Thomas Jarret and Jane Pain. She died aged 83 years and
buried on 7 November 1824 in Balcombe. Michael's Grandmother was Ann
Jarrett (1670-?), might Ann and Elizabeth have shared a common ancestor?

William Marchant was born on 10 June 1775 and baptised on 25 June 1775
in Ardingly. He married twice. Firstly to Elizabeth Cripps
on 4 May 1797 in Ardingly who died within a month of their marriage. She
was born on 28 April 1773 and baptised on 15 May 1773 in Ardingly, and was the
daughter of John Crips and Ann Hall. Elizabeth was buried
on 30 May 1797 in Ardingly. William then married Mildred
sometime before or about 1799. They had at least 1 known daughter.

Edward Marchant was born on 26 September 1778 and baptised on 11
October 1778 in Ardingly. He married Sarah Butcher on 12 August
1797 in Cuckfield.

Jane Marchant was born on 4 February 1782 and baptised on 23 February
1782 in Ardingly.
