Anscomb on 7 April 1768 in Balcombe. Henry may have been the father
Marchant who married
Knowles in 1796 in East Grinstead.
Edmond Marchant was born about 1740 and baptised aged 15 years on 6
July 1755 in Ardingly. The names of his parents were not recorded in the
baptism register. He married Diana Simmonds on 12 October 1764 in
Henry and Edmond may have lived with their Uncle
(1696-1761) and Aunt
Simmonds (1700-1774), who had children baptised in Ardingly from 1728 until
1740. Might Edmond's wife Diana have been a niece of his Aunt Sarah?
