Walter LINDFIELD

and Margaret VINALL (1851-1880)

Walter Lindfield and
Margaret Vinall married by banns on 8 May 1875 in
Lower Beeding, Sussex. He was then a 23 year old bachelor and labourer
and she was a 24 year old spinster. Their fathers were named as
Henry Lindfield and William Vinall who
were both labourers. The witnesses to their marriage were
Henry Vinall and Louisa Ede. (They were
not my direct ancestors, but I do have distant Lindfield and Vinall
ancestors.)
Walter Lindfield was born about 1852 in Lower Beeding.
He was the son of Henry
Lindfield (1819-?) and
Mary Richardson
(1820-?). When the 1881 census was recorded he was a 28 year old
widower and domestic gardener and he was living at ???? Ham Lodge in
Lower Beeding. With him on census night was 72 year old
William Carter who was an agricultural labourer.
Margaret Vinall was
baptised on 2 June 1851 in Lower Beeding. She was the daughter
of
William Vinall
(1791-1877) and
Ann
Woolgar (1808-1874). At the time of her baptism her father
was a bricklayer. She died aged 29 years and was buried on 9 June
1880 in Lower Beeding.
When the 1891 census was recorded, Walter was a 39 year old agricultural
labourer living in Lower Street, Pulborough, along with his 45 year old wife
M. A. Lindfield and son
14 year old Harry Lindfield, who had been born in Lower
Beeding.
Walter Lindfield and
Margaret Vinall had 1 known child:

Annie Margaret Lindfield was born on 24 May
1880 and baptised on 4 July 1880 in Lower Beeding, at which time
her father was a gardener. Annie married
Frederick Alfred Tullett in 1904.
