Charles Lidbetter and Jane Brockhurst by banns on 24 November 1866 in Pulborough,
Sussex.
Charles was then a 20 year old bachelor and labourer, and Jane a 20 year old
spinster. Their fathers were named as Charles Lidbetter
and Edward Brockhurst who were both labourers.
The witnesses to the marriage were Mr. John Watson and
Jesse Greenfield. (They were not my direct ancestors. Jane
was the niece of my 3x Great Grandfather, William Wedge.)

Jane's uncle,
William Wedge.
Charles Lidbetter was baptised on 15 November 1846 in Pulborough and was the son of
Charles Lidbetter (1807-1860) and
Mary Adfield.
Jane Brockhurst was born in Hardham, Sussex and baptised on 9 April 1848 in Pulborough.
She was the daughter of
Edward Brockhurst
(1818-1879) and
Eleanor Wedge
(1820-1893).
She was 3 years old when the 1851 census was recorded.
In 1881, the couple together with their 7 children were living at Bread Farm in
Storrington, Sussex, where Charles was a farm labourer.

Helen Lidbetter was 24 February 1867 in Pulborough, at which time her
father was labourer.

William Felix Lidbetter was baptised on 25 October 1868 in Pulborough.
He was a labourer. William married Eliza Ford in the second quarter
of 1893 in the Thakeham registration district. She was born about 1863 in
Storrington and was the daughter
of William Ford.

Emily Lidbetter was baptised on 12 September 1870 in Pulborough.
She died aged 6 weeks and was buried on 23 September 1870 in Pulborough.

Percy James Lidbetter was baptised on 12 November 1871 in Pulborough.
He was an agricultural labourer. Percy married Ada Ellen Welfare in
the fourth quarter of
1895 in the Thakeham registration district. She was born about 1875 in Steyning.

Louisa Lidbetter was baptised on 11 January 1874 in Pulborough.

George Lidbetter was born in Nutbourne and baptised on 19 September 1875
in Pulborough.

Charles Lidbetter was born about 1878 in Storrington. He was a
carter of a farm in 1901.

Henry Lidbetter was born about 1880 in Cootham, near Storrington.
He was an agricultural labourer. Henry married Rose White.

Albert Lidbetter was born about 1881 in Storrington. He was an
agricultural labourer.

Edward Lidbetter was born about 1884 in Storrington. He was a
shepherd in 1901.

Arthur Lidbetter was born about 1887 in Storrington. He was a
carter boy in 1901.
