William LELLIET (c1600-?)

and Mary STRONGE (1606-?)

 

William Leliet and Mary Stronge married on 20 October 1629 in Aldingbourne, Sussex.

William may have been baptised as William Leliot on 10 March 1603/4 in Aldingbourne, the son of Thomas Leliot, or as William Leliot on 10 November 1606 in Aldingbourne, the son of Robert Leliot from Lydsey.  A William Lilet of Lydsey was buried on 30 April 1652 in Aldingbourne.

Mary Stronge may have been baptised on 30 November 1606 in Barnham, Sussex and have been the daughter of Anthonie Stronge.

A William Lilliett senior and a William Lilliett junior, both of Aldingbourne, signed the 1641/2 Protestation Return.

 

William Leliet and Mary Stronge had 7 known children:

  1. Mary Leliet was baptised on 10 April 1630 in Aldingbourne, the daughter of William from Lydsey.

  2. Elizabeth Leliet was baptised on 2 February 1632 in Aldingbourne, the daughter of William from Lydsey.

  3. Elizabeth Leliet was baptised on 20 January 1632/3 in Aldingbourne, the daughter of William.  As Elizabeth Lilliatt she may have married John Heale on 31 January 1653/4 in Aldingbourne.  Or might she have married William Allen on 17 April 1666 in Upper Beeding, Sussex?

  4. Jane Leliet was baptised on 28 January 1635 in Aldingbourne, the daughter of William.

  5. John Liliet was baptised on 3 August 1635 in Aldingbourne, the son of William and Mary from Lydsey.  As John Lilliat did he marry Margaret Wheller on 26 May 1656 in Aldingbourne?

  6. Henry Liliet was baptised on 24 February 1638/9 in Aldingbourne, the son William from Norton.  Was he the Henry Lylliott who married Mary sometime before 1663 and then settled in Shermanbury, Sussex?

  7. Thomas Leliot was baptised on 27 February 1648 in Aldingbourne, the son of William from Lydsey.
