John LILYET
(c1761-1819)
and Anne (?-?)

John Lillyett
and Ann
may have married before 1793, possibly near Mid Lavant, Sussex.
(They were not my direct ancestors.) A John Lelliott
married Ann Chennell on 6 May 1790 in Rudgwick, Sussex.
That John was then a bachelor of Abinger, Surrey and Ann was a spinster of
Rudgwick. That couple may have had children baptised in Oakwood,
Surrey.
John Lillyett may have been born about
1761. He died aged 58 years and was buried on 2 June 1819 in Mid
Lavant. The burial register recorded his name as John Lellyett
and he was then from the parish of St. Peter the Great in Chichester,
Sussex. A John Lilliot was baptised on 7 September
1760 at St. Pancras, Chichester, the son of John Lilliot
and Susannah (?-1763).
Anne's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
John Lillyett and
Anne had 8 known children:
-
John Lilyet was baptised on 10 March 1793 in Mid Lavant.
-
Sarah Lilyet was baptised on 20 September 1795 in Mid
Lavant.
-
William Lilyet was baptised on 24 October 1796 in Mid
Lavant. A transcript of the Mid Lavant burial register records
that a William Lelyot from the Subdeanery, Chichester,
died aged 25 years and was buried on 23 December 1815, i.e. born about
1790.
-
Mary Ann Lilyet was baptised on 3 March 1798 in Mid
Lavant.
-
Eliza Lilyett was baptised on 3 June 1800 in Mid Lavant.
-
Jane Lilyett was baptised on 19 September 1802 in Mid
Lavant.
-
Charles Lilyett was baptised on 28 May 1805 in Mid Lavant
and buried there on 20 October 1805.
-
Henry Lilyett was baptised on 25 October 1807 in Mid
Lavant.
As Henry Lilyett he may have married Louisa
Houlden or Rouben by banns on 25 December 1830
at St. Pancras, Chichester. The witnesses to their marriage were
John Blurwen and Elizabeth Boniface.
Henry and Louisa had the following child:
-
Elizabeth Lelliott was baptised on 15 November 1831 at
St. Peter the Great in Chichester. The baptism register noted that
her father was a coachmaker from Somers Town.
