John Lelliott may have married 4 times, firstly to Mary sometime before or about 1695, and possibly in or near Sompting, Sussex.  As John Lelliot he married Jane Towner on 20 April 1707 in Sompting.  And then as John Lelliott he married Elizabeth Pembridge on 23 July 1710 in Patching, Sussex.  He was then said to have been a widower of Sompting and she was of Patching.  He may then have married again between 1720 and 1727.  (They were not my direct ancestors.)

John Lelliott's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was buried on 7 September 1727 in Sompting.  A John Lilliot was baptised on 30 April 1676 in Shermanbury, Sussex, the son of Henry Lylliott (c1635-1686) and Mary, but I think that John remained in Shermanbury.  John may have had a brother Thomas Lelliot who had settled in Sompting by 1695.

Mary wife of John Lelliot was buried on 20 May 1705 in Sompting. 

Jane wife of John Lelliot was buried on 9 March 1707/8 in Sompting.

Elizabeth wife of John Lelliott was buried on 21 March 1719/20 in Sompting.  An Elizabeth Penbridge was baptised on 22 December 1672 in Patching, the daughter of John Penbridge.

The widow Lelliott was buried on 21 November 1727 in Sompting.

John Lelliot and wives had 7 known children:

1. Thomas Leliot was baptised on 5 November 1695 in Sompting.  A transcript of the baptism register records he was the son of John and Mary.  He may have been buried on 27 August 1704 in Sompting.  The burial register transcript names his father as John.

2. John Lelliott was baptised on 6 February 1697/8 in Sompting.  A transcript of the baptism register notes that he was the son of John.  He may have been buried on 15 April 1743 in Sompting.  The burial register noted that John Lelliott was a servant.

3. Mary Lelliot was baptised on 16 February 1700/1 in Sompting.  A transcript of the baptism register notes that she was the daughter of John and Mary.

4. Sarah Lelliot was baptised on 8 August 1703 in Sompting and buried there on 14 August 1703.  A transcript of the baptism and burial registers records her father's name as John.

5. Sarah Lelliott was baptised on 9 July 1704 in Sompting and buried there on 18 July 1704.  A transcript of the baptism and burial registers records her father's name as John.

6. Thomas Lelliot was baptised 19 February 1707/8 in Sompting and buried there on 26 March 1709.  A transcript of the baptism and burial registers records his father's name as John.

7. Edward Lelliot was baptised on 28 May 1711 in Sompting.  A transcript of the baptism register notes he was the son of John and Elizabeth.
